Meet Suzanne
As the next Village President, I want you to know that I have the experience and education to take on the responsibilities and challenges of the office.
As a Village Trustee, I currently serve as the Chair for the Personnel Committee and a member of the Finance Committee. I have previously served as the Chair of the Finance Committee and as a member of the Infrastructure Committee. I have been a Village Trustee for two terms, 2009-2013 and 2018 to present. During my time as a Village Trustee, I have helped the Village secure grants for literally hundreds of thousands of dollars for projects like the water main replacement, storm water improvements, replacement of the Civic Center's roof, and GIS mapping of Village infrastructure.
As a professional, I have worked for both Kane County and DuPage County managing elections as a Chief Deputy Clerk and Director of Elections for Kane County (2012-2016), and as the Executive Director of the DuPage County Election Commission (2018-2019). Prior to my work in elections, I worked for the Kane County Sheriff's Office as the Director of Grant Management where I was responsible for federal and state grants. Presently, I serve as the Executive Director of Lord of Life Church in a volunteer capacity and work as an elections consultant.
As an educator, I have years of experience in the local community colleges, Waubonsee Community College and Elgin Community College. I have taught history, government, political science, and French. I have a master's degree and bachelors degree in political science and government from Illinois State University.
